The Knights travel to Sale tomorrow looking to continue their good pre-season form that saw them leave Wales 47-7 winners last Friday in Bridgend.
Doncaster and Sale are familiar opponents having faced each other at Castle Park last year with Clive Griffiths’ side coming away with 47-21 victory in August 2018.
The Manchester based side managed 12 wins from 30 games last season in the National One and have a number of notable dangermen for the Knights to be wary off.
Fly-half Kieran Wilkinson has featured for Sale Jets and scored an impressive 23 conversions and 8 penalties during the 2018/19 campaign. While talented scrum-half Matt Bradley has international experience with Hungary.
Another threat is dual registered Sale Sharks youngster Arron Reed, who has managed 13 tries from 19 appearances over the last two seasons at Heywood Road.
Director of Rugby Jonathan Keep has also strengthened his side with the addition of ex Bedford Blues back row Jarad Williams, centre Jeremy Toa from French Pro D2 side Oyannax and former London Irish & Sale Sharks Fergus Mulchrone, who can play centre, wing or full-back.
There are several changes to the Donny squad that travelled to Wales as players make their way back from injury. New signing George Edgson, who has recovered from an ankle problem sustained late last season makes the bench while Matt Smith replaces Tom Hicks in the starting line up as he returns from a back injury.
Winger Curtis Wilson makes the starting side after impressing from the bench last Friday as the 27-year-old scored two tries late on to secure the win for the Knights.
Full-back Tom Carleton has also joined the side for pre-season and makes his way onto the bench.
