Will wings into Castle Park.

Clive Griffiths makes his second new signing of the off-season in the form of winger Will Hurrell.

The 25-year-old signs from National Division One outfit Coventry, having been a pivotal part of the Midlanders squad for the past two seasons as he combined playing with studying for a Mathematics degree at Aston University.

Will has considerable professional rugby experience having risen through the ranks at Leicester Tigers in a stint that saw the speedster spend time at Castle Park on loan. After leaving Welford Road, Will headed to the Capital to join London Welsh in their Championship winning 2011/12 campaign. Hurrell also spent a season a season down the road with Rotherham Titans before returning to the Midlands.

This season Will has been an ever-present in Coventry’s starting XV, missing just one game all season and touching down for 11 tries. This impressive form saw Will called into the England Counties squad in February, though this wasn’t the winger’s first national call up having previously worn the red rose at two U20 IRB Junior World Championships in 2009 and 2010.

Speaking on his signing Will Said.“I am excited to be joining Doncaster Knights and really happy to be working with Clive. I can’t wait to get started and join up with the squad for pre season.”

Direct or Rugby Clive Griffiths added. “Will is a blockbusting, powerful winger.

“Our supporters may remember him playing for Coventry, he scored against us in the crucial game at Butts Park at the end of last season.

“He has the ability to double up in the centres so will be a welcome addition to our squad in terms of versatility.

“He brings something a little different to our game plan and I look forward to welcoming him into the family”

The addition of Will Hurrell takes the Knights squad up to 20 ahead of the 2015/15 season.
