Phoenix | Cup finals & rep honours.

It’s a busy final week of the season at Castle Park as, not only do the Knights gear up to take on Jersey, but Doncaster Phoenix get ready for TWO Cup finals.

On Wednesday evening Phoenix 1st XV look to make Club history and lift the Yorkshire Cup for the very first time – ten years on from the Knights last lifting T’owd Tin Pot in 2008.

Phoenix will need to produce a performance to the level of their semi-final triumph over Harrogate if they are to be crowned County Champions as they take on promotion seeking Hull RUFC who have lost just three times all season.

The final takes place at York RUFC, kick off is at 19:30 and all support is very much welcome.

The success of the Castle Park side has not been restricted to the first XV either as the Phoenix 2nd XV are also in a Cup final this week having reached the final of the South Yorkhire Cup (Gerry Roberts Memorial Trophy). They face Sheffield RUFC’s 2nd XV at Castle Park on Thursday, KO at 18:45 entry is free and, once again, all support is very much welcome.

There has been more good news for three of the Phoenix 1st XV also as Sam Pocklington, Will Holling & Seva Bulumakau (all Academy players) have been selected into the North of England Under 20s squad on the back of their performances for Yorkshire U20s this campaign. Well done lads!
