Biography

Tighthead prop Andrew Foster joined the Knights in summer 2019 from Yorkshire Carnegie where he made 26 appearances for the Leeds based side.

The front-rower spent the 2017/18 campaign with Rotherham Titans having previously featured for Newcastle Falcons and Blaydon RFC in National One.

Newcastle-born, Andrew made his Premiership debut for his home-town club in April 2015 against Saracens, going on to make a European Challenge Cup debut against Brive in January 2016.

With ongoing injury issues in both prop positions in 2021/22, Andrew became a main-stay of Steve Boden’s side – continually performing, often getting the better of his direct opposition as his scrummaging was a important point of note throughout that season.

A long-term injury brought his season to an extremely early close in just the second game of the season in 2022/23 before the experienced tighthead made a return to the field in the closing weeks of the competition.

Sitting on 43 appearances for the Knights so far, Andrew will look to put up a tough fight against his new competition for the tighthead shirt in the Donny pack this season.
