Biography

Lock Ben Murphy arrived from Cardiff Rugby in the United Rugby Championship part-way through the 2021/22 season in November 2021 as the Knights suffered injury problems in the pack.

Ben played 19 times for the Welsh province in the Anglo-Welsh Cup, European Challenge Cup, Pro14 and Rainbow Cup competitions.

Welsh-born, Ben played for Cardiff Rugby since joining their Academy from Abercynon RFC. The second row made his senior team debut in 2017 against Premiership side, Newcastle Falcons.

Initially joining the Knights as a young player keen to secure game time, Ben went on to play in 10 league and 4 cup fixtures in his debut season, quickly impressing fans and endearing himself to his new teammates.

Now sitting on 26 appearances, Ben experienced some injury woes last season, but he still remains a prominent leader within the Knights pack.

Ben has shown that none of the drive has diminished in the off-season and on first impressions, he will be an integral part of the Donny forwards unit this season.
