Biography

James made eight appearances for Saints in 2019/20, featuring in the Champions Cup and Premiership for the Black, Green and Gold before joining the Knights in June 2020.

Before his move to Franklin’s Gardens James spent two seasons with Connacht, where he made 26 appearances and scored two tries.

Before moving West Ireland in 2017, James played for three seasons with Sale Sharks.

His first-team debut for the Sharks came aged just 19 in an LV Cup game against Worcester and he went on to play 20 times for the Premiership giants.

Mitchell represented England at Under-16, U17 and U18 level before being selected in the 2015 U20 6 Nations Squad. He played in all five games in that competition and subsequently went on to feature in all five games at the U20 World Championship in Italy.

The No.9 also captained Sale Sharks’ side during the 2015 Premiership Rugby 7s but is now focused on making his mark at Castle Park.
