TEAM NEWS | Knights make nine changes for Falcons cup battle
6th December 2019
The Knights have made several changes to the starting side as they welcome Newcastle Falcons to Castle Park in the Championship Cup.
Doncaster arrive into the game with three wins and two defeats at home, while the visitors from the north have yet to lose a game this season.
However, the home side have only won one of their last four games. A 22-18 win against Bedford Blues in the league with a try from Lloyd Hayes and 17 points kicked from Sam Olver securing the victory in early November.
The Falcons are top of the Championship and their Cup pool group after a fantastic start to the season. Director of Rugby Dean Richards’ side beat Hartpury 50-10 in their last outing and will arrive at Castle Park full of confidence.
The Knights injury woes are thankfully not as lengthy heading into the game with the return of Tom James and Rory Pitman this week. Cameron Cowell is also back in the squad, while new signing Tongan International Fotu Lokotui is set to make his debut for the club.
Kyle Evans, Connor Doherty, Robin Hislop, Dan Suter and Tom Calladine make the starting side this week. While Ben Hunter will make his 150th Doncaster appearance as he is back in the XV. George Edgson, Andy Foster, Michael Hills, Gus Warr and Charlie Foley drop to the replacements from the Jersey game.
