Doncaster born Michael Hills returned to Castle Park in summer 2013, having first learnt the game as a DRFC mini/junior.
The flanker signed his first professional contract with Sale Sharks in 2003, making his first team debut versus Newcastle Falcons in April 2006. During his time with Sale the open side gained representative honours for England at both age grade level and Sevens.
In 2009 Hills left Sale travelling south to sign for London Welsh, quickly becoming a regular in the Exiles back row and made 19 appearances in their 2012/13 Premiership campaign.
Since returning to the Club Hills has been pivotal to the Knights success. An ever-present in the Knights promotion-winning National One season in 2013/14, Michael was named on field captain for the Club’s return to the Championship; a role he continues to hold.
With the exception of an injury suffered during the first half of the 2016/17 season, the 33-year-old had the open-side flanker position as his own and has surpassed 100 appearances for the Knights.
During the 2018/19 campaign, the forward suffered a couple of injuries but still managed an impressive 19 appearances for the Knights.
