Robin Hislop became the second new arrival ahead of the 2018/19 season as he returned to Castle Park from Ayr RFC.
The 25-year-old returned having first signed for the Club ahead of the 2016/17 season from Rotherham Titans and enjoyed an impressive start to life as a Knight, featuring in each of the first fifteen games of the season before suffering a serious shoulder injury just after the new year.
The injury saw the prop sidelined for the remainder of the campaign, before returning home to continue his rehab. Back fit Bomber has made waves in the Scottish Premiership and DoR Clive Griffiths moved quickly to bring him back to South Yorkshire.
Before moving to England Robin developed through the academy of Edinburgh Rugby going on to made a handful of first team appearances in the European Cup and Pro12 and collected age grade honours with Scotland at Under 17, 18 and 20 level eventually going on to Captain the U20s. He also appeared for ‘Scotland Clubs’ versus ‘Ireland Clubs’ in 2013.
Now back in South Yorkshire Hislop will look to compete for the Knights number one jersey against stiff competition from Richard List and Toby Williams as well as coaching with National Division Two North side Sheffield Tigers.
Nicknamed 'Bomber' he signed a new contract in the new year, after impressing during the 2018/19 season with 18 appearances by the end of January.
