Hooker Corey Tait re-signs for 2026/27
22nd June 2026
Doncaster Knights are delighted to announce that hooker Corey Tait has re-signed with the club for next season.
Tait joined the Knights midway through the campaign after spending the first half of the season captaining Selkirk RFC, who compete in both the Arnold Clark Premiership and Border League in Scotland.
Although he arrived partway through the season, Tait quickly integrated into the squad and made a positive impression whenever called upon. Featuring in a handful of matches towards the end of the campaign, he showed promising development, a strong work ethic, and a willingness to give everything for the team every time he pulled on a Knights shirt.
Corey’s rugby journey began at Jed Forest Minis before moving to Hawick RFC, where he progressed through the youth ranks between 2014 and 2021. After breaking into the senior side, he continued his development with Boroughmuir Bears in the FOSROC Super6 competition.
His performances in the Super6 did not go unnoticed, and during the 2023 Six Nations campaign, Tait earned his first taste of international rugby, featuring in every game of the tournament and gaining valuable experience at representative level.
Still developing and eager to improve, Tait provides further depth and competition in the hooker position, and the club is delighted to see him continue his journey at Castle Park.
Director of Rugby Sir Ian McGeechan said:
“Corey made great progress after joining us last season. His attitude and commitment shown in training is outstanding and it was shown on the field in the last few games where he made a positive impact. We ar looking forward to seeing what else he can do as a promising, hard-working youngster.”
