Utility back Jack Metcalf arrived in Doncaster from Championship competition, Ealing Trailfinders in January 2023.

A locally produced talent, Jack was originally a member of the Yorkshire Carnegie set-up in their Academy as well as representing Yorkshire U18s. The young back made the switch from the North to Sale Sharks in March 2021, debuting for the Premiership side against Leicester Tigers in the November.

Jack went on to make 12 first team appearances for the Sharks – chalking up 4 tries in the process of the 2021/22 season – as well as enjoying successful game-time on loan to Sale FC. Following the conclusion of last season, the utility back – who can play centre, wing or fullback – joined Ealing Trailfinders.

Jack feels the Knights environment will be a good fit for him, and his familiarity with a couple of the Knights coaches from their time at Carnegie helped to secure the deal.
