Biography

Lock Evan Mintern arrived in Doncaster from All Ireland League side, Cork Constitution, with whom his rugby career began at the tender age of 4.

Evan was brought to the attention of the Knights coaches as a strong, physical player who would be a good guy to have in the Doncaster environment.

From Cork, Ireland, Evan began playing rugby in his youth with Cork Constitution. Progressing throughout school with Christian Brother’s College, Evan played U15s for the school side while also representing Munster U18s Schools team.

Playing for Cork Constitution in the All Ireland League, he won the Under 20s competition in the league which led to him being named in the Ireland U20s side for the U20s World Rugby Championship in 2016.

Following his time in Ireland, Evan spent time in the United States of America – representing Rugby United New York throughout the 2021 season before making the switch to Rugby Atlanta for the 2022 Major League season.

Appearing in the Knights back or second row last season, in and around injuries Evan notched up 17 appearances – a tally he will be looking to add to in a competitive pack this season.
