Doncaster Knights Foundation are proud to partner with Shaw Wood Academy & Complete Coaching Solutions to provide after-school sports clubs, educational workshops and additional staff training following a successful application through the opening school facilities fund.
This funding will cover the costs for Shaw Wood Academy to keep its doors open to the community after school hours and host additional activities throughout the year which will keep children active after the school day. These activities can be attended by children across the community, and we actively invite families from our local community to get involved.
Complete Coaching Solutions and the Knights Foundation will support Shaw Wood Academy to deliver a range of activities across the next 12 months. Activities will include sports ranging from Rugby to Bowls, upskill teaching staff to be confident and competent delivering these activities in the future and also delivering educational workshops such as first aid to local children.
We will also be working with other local organisations such as Armthorpe Bowls Club, Armthorpe Parish Council, Doncaster Town Cricket Club and Direct-Action Training.

Shaw Wood Academy, Headteacher, Mrs Parker-Watts said, “Shaw Wood are incredibly proud to have partnered with The Doncaster Knights Foundation, Doncaster Town Cricket Club, Complete Coaching Solutions and Direct Action Training to bring free-of-charge sports sessions to the community we serve. Sessions will be at a time, so children from all schools are able to attend and will be delivered to a high quality. Shaw Wood have noticed the new community work that the Foundation has started doing and we hope that this is the first step to more collaborative working in the future.”

We will provide physical activities for children and families across the local area to help improve their physical and mental well-being.”
Doncaster Knights, Head of Foundation, Tom Foy expressed his delight with the partnership, “We are really pleased to support a local school in securing funding which will benefit children and families across our wider community. The Knight’s Foundation is a relatively new charity associated with Doncaster Knights Rugby Club based in Armthorpe which helps connect local people through a range of physical activity, education and Rugby.”
